Save More in 20 Days

Spend less and save more in 20 days with these exclusive frugal tips delivered daily to your email inbox. Join me on this challenge and save!

I am starting a challenge to encourage us to find ways to save more in 20 days. It’s easy to lose track of where your money goes every month. Spending a few dollars extra here and there on convenience items and services can add up quickly. It is a great idea to evaluate whether you are spending on things that you really need.

If you have been following this blog for a while now, you know that we have started our debt-free journey. We have paused our student loan debt payments until our finances steady a bit. However, we will be attacking those head-on starting in January 2022. Until then, we have a plan to save. We want to make it a habit to spend less in general and only buy things we truly need. Even in that case, we are trying to be careful to spend as little as possible. We will be taking advantage of sales, secondhand stores and leaning on friends and family where we can.

Our short-term goal is to restore our 3-6 month emergency fund, because that saved us all of last year while my husband was in-between jobs. Once that is replenished, we will be maxing out 401ks and Roth IRAs, saving for Noah’s college fund and throwing the rest of our money at debt. The only way we will be able to meet our lofty financial goals will be to focus on spending as little as possible.

This 20 Days of Savings Challenge is meant to be a reset button. We will take stock of our personal financial goals and evaluate how we can adjust to meet those goals more efficiently. I hope you can take these tips with you and incorporate into daily living beyond the challenge end date. I can’t think of a better way to meet those goals than to save money.

Even though I am super familiar with these tips, I will be doing this Challenge as well. I like to periodically go back to the basics and make sure that my current actions are aligning with my values. These tips are my favorite, and I hope you like them, too.
